1998: The first 'creel edition' booklet is produced
Writing twenty letters by hand each month proved tiring (especially as they were exactly the same letter, manually scrawled in the early hours of the morning) so I decided to purchase a computer and make a first attempt at desktop publishing. The result was an A5-size booklet that I called a 'creel edition', as I expected it to be taken in an angler's creel and be read at the waterside.
The first time Fennel's Journal appears in print
The document you see here is the first creel edition of Fennel's Journal. It was written in 1998 and shared with my friends as a Christmas present in 1999. It tells the fictional story of big fish still inhabiting a once-famous carp lake.
The writing's clunky, but it's not bad for a shy 24-year-old. I hope you enjoy reading it and appreciate that this was the first time Fennel's Journal appeared in print.
